Senior Data & Analytics Consultant

What it is about

For 2027 we are preparing several larger data projects, including some in the regulated financial services and insurance sector. A typical setup there: reporting runs in parallel in Power BI and Qlik, while Dynamics 365 CRM and SAP supply the data. The goal is a consolidated, easy-to-run data platform on Microsoft Fabric whose numbers management can rely on. For this we are looking for someone who takes the functional and technical lead on these projects and makes them their own.

Who we are looking for

We are not looking for someone who works through tickets. We are looking for someone who thinks along. You notice when a KPI is wrong, even though nobody asked. You speak up when a requirement misses the actual goal. And you tidy up what others have left behind, because you care about the result and not just the assignment.

Your tasks

• You analyse existing reporting landscapes (Power BI, Qlik, Excel) and design a target architecture on Microsoft Fabric.
• You own the migration from Qlik to Power BI, from data models and KPIs through to sign-off with the business teams.
• You connect data sources such as Dynamics 365/Dataverse and SAP cleanly and build pipelines, lakehouses and semantic models.
• You work in weekly sprints directly with the client: review and planning, backlog in Azure DevOps, a usable result every week.
• You estimate effort for fixed-price packages and communicate openly about status and risks.
• You take care of governance, permissions and documentation that also hold up in regulated environments.
• You enable key users so that the solution is adopted in daily work and doesn't just go live.
• You bring in your own ideas, beyond your project too: for clients, for colleagues and for Theia.

What you bring

• Several years of project experience with Power BI (DAX, data modelling, Power Query)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure data platforms (Data Factory, Synapse, SQL)
• Experience with Qlik, ideally from a migration or consolidation
• Understanding of Dataverse/Dynamics 365 as a data source; SAP integration is a plus
• Experience in regulated industries such as banking or insurance is an advantage
• Initiative and entrepreneurial thinking: you take responsibility instead of passing it on
• You enjoy working with business teams: listening, structuring and raising uncomfortable points too
• Willingness to join our seniors' on-call rotation later on
• Very good German, good English
• An advantage: certifications such as DP-600 or PL-300, experience with Scrum and Azure DevOps
