Digital Planning and Execution of School Evaluations

The Office for School Assessment in the Canton of Zurich is responsible for the regular quality control of primary and secondary schools. Each school is reviewed every five to six years, using a comprehensive set of criteria covering pedagogical, legal, and organizational aspects.

Planning these evaluations is highly complex. Schools must be scheduled into the respective cycle, teams of specialists with different roles must be assembled, dates must be coordinated, and at the same time, double bookings, overlaps, and conflicts of interest must be avoided. The effort required for coordination and verification was correspondingly high.

A specialized application was developed that digitally supports the entire planning process. The system enables the assignment of schools and specialists, creates schedules, checks for conflicts and overlaps, and integrates a portal and document repository for transparent collaboration.
