New accounts, familiar email addresses

Antritt moved to Microsoft 365 in autumn 2024. Theia handled the technical transition of user accounts and mailboxes and set up the collaboration environment. The existing email addresses were retained.

The migration reached the applications on work devices: new accounts, sign-in to Office and Outlook, and handling existing data. For Antritt, it was therefore important to clarify which steps Theia would handle and what employees would need to do afterwards. Licences and administrative access to the new environment were also part of the transition.

Theia prepared the Microsoft accounts and connected them to the existing Antritt domain. The project included setting up identities and mailboxes, as well as SharePoint for collaboration. The technical environment could therefore change while the familiar email addresses remained.

The agreed process made both sides' tasks explicit: Theia handled the technical transition and the new accounts. The team's subsequent steps were to sign in with the new account, check synchronised emails and remove the previous IMAP connections in Outlook. Transferring personal data from the old account to the new one was also among the steps explained.

Further assistance included licences and support. In daily work, questions about use then came to the fore: which files belong in OneDrive and which in SharePoint? When is a team or channel needed? How can people collaborate with others outside their organisation? These questions added the use of the new working environment to the technical migration.
